- As the national Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI) acquires
momentum with the year, the need for a long lasting design platform
for their identity became necessary. The Web site was the first
extension of this platform, and the 2007 Annual report is an addition
to their identity system. Pax Rodentia is also helping NKFI strengthen
its identity within the city of Chicago by redefining its physical
location as well.
- The theme of a "thread of life"is true to the nature of the Foundation
; the living thread becomes an icon not bound to a specific visual
imagery but an emotional and intelelctual concept. From the patients
to the researchers, from the vast network of people forming a "fabric of
life" around the Foundation;
emerges a thread of meaning. It's a unifying theme that's as simple
as it is potent. A design platform that can be implemented in multiple
manners and across media, helping to strenghten the community of
people affected by Kidney diseases.
- In addition to creating a visual direction and a theme for the NKFI brand, the Kidney Mobile mini-site and the resource guide provide a wealth of information for patients and professional alike, establishing the National Kidney Foundation as a pioneer in its role to inform, educate and impact the community.
